• Helping older Australians and pensioners with the cost of living by expanding access to the Seniors Health Card.
• Provided more options for older Australians and eligible Veterans who want to work more, by lifting the Work Bonus income bank threshold for anyone over age pension age on an income support payment.
• Protecting Australians from SMS scams by ensuring SMS messages sent under brand names are legitimate, with the new SMS Sender ID Register.
• Tackling scams to protect Australians and reducing scam losses for the first time since 2016.
• Establishing a Scam Prevention Framework – providing the strongest defences against scammers in the world.
• Restoring dignity to aged care, putting nurses back into nursing homes and ending a decade of neglect under the Liberals.
• Delivering a pay rise for aged care workers, to recognise the value of aged care workers and the complex work they do.
• Announced $5.6 billion in aged care reforms, including a $4.3 billion Support at Home program to help 1.4 million Australians remain independent in their homes by 2035, making the biggest reforms to improve aged care in a generation.
• Ensuring older Australians have tasty and nutritious food in aged care thanks to a free training program for aged care cooks and chefs.
