What we’re doing for Bushfire Preparedness

The Albanese Government is strengthening bushfire preparedness by investing $48 million in Australia’s National Aerial Firefighting Fleet and upgrading emergency warnings and alerts to support first responders.

Through the Disaster Ready Fund, it’s backing vital mitigation projects like fire breaks, evacuation centres and cyclone shelters to build long-term community resilience.

Over $1.1 billion is also being invested to boost regional communications, reduce black spots, and protect telco infrastructure from natural disasters.
