Fighting for gender equality

I have been motivated my entire life to play a role in the fight for gender equality.

That’s why I am so proud to be a member of an Albanese Government that is committed to delivering true gender equality.

We are already making progress on a range of issues, including:

  • Working towards gender pay equity by making gender equity an objective of the Fair Work Commission
  • Delivering cheaper childcare for 96 per cent of families in the system
  • Extending paid parental leave and given families more flexibility so they can make it work for them
  • Enshrining paid domestic violence leave in law for all workers
  • And we’ve returned the women’s budget statement to ensure the concerns of women are addressed in every budget measure.

I am also very proud to serve in a Government that is more than 50 per cent women.

It ensures that when big decisions are being made, decisions that impact real people and their lives, women’s perspectives are front and centre in the debate.
