Volunteer Grants 2025-2026

Expressions of Interest for the Volunteer Grants program 2025-26 are now open for organisations based in Boothby.

Volunteer Grants recognise the valuable role volunteers play in building more resilient and cohesive communities. Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available to help community organisations to support their volunteers.

This year, changes have been made to the Volunteer Grants program to better respond to the environment volunteer organisations are now faced with, with Category 2 now including a broader list of community cohorts.

Categories for Volunteer Grants which reflect areas of high demand for volunteer organisations are now:

· Category 1: for communications and IT items (such as laptops, phones, payment devices and software), and paying for insurance premiums.

· Category 2: for purchasing items or funding volunteer-run activities that support priority community cohorts, including children and young people under 18, First Nations people, newly arrived migrants, people with disability, unemployed people, veterans and ADF members, women experiencing or at risk of gender-based violence or disadvantage, and initiatives that promote inclusion and eliminate racial discrimination.

These changes mean Volunteer Grant funding will be more targeted to where it is needed most.

Priority will be given to organisations who have not received funding in previous grant rounds.

More information on the eligibility criteria can be found in the grant opportunity guidelines here: Grant Opportunity Guidelines. My office is also happy to help talk you through the changes.
