Seniors Kit

Our Seniors Help Kit is designed to provide information on accessing services within our community and outline what the Government is doing for older Australians.

My life’s work has always been about delivering for the community, whether it was running health services across the state, a range of services in local government, or as CEO of Catherine House and St Vincent de Paul SA.

I’m proud to be part of an Albanese Government is determined to bring cost-of-living relief to all Australians, but particularly those older members of our community who spent their lives building this wonderful country we call home.

Understanding the importance of the affordability of health care to older Australians, we’ve lowered the maximum cost of a prescription on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) from $42.50 to $31.60.

We are continuing to freeze deeming rates for a further twelve months to provide sustained relief for around 876,000 pensioners and other income support recipients.

We are delivering on our commitment to return dignity, quality, security and humanity to aged care, ensuring that older Australians are treated with the respect they deserve. The Government is legislating the recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety in its final report.

The Albanese Government has also passed legislation requiring a registered nurse in every residential aged care home onsite and on duty, 24/7 and provided $318 million to continue COVID-19 support for residential aged care homes.

We’ve heard what is important to you, and we are committed to delivering impactful support to older Australians, as you deserve.

I am here for you, and I encourage you to reach out to my office with any issues or queries you may have. I endeavour to assist you in any way I can, and I am proud to continue to represent our wonderful community of Boothby.
